I have two Buffalo WHR-G125 routers at two different locations.

Both running 14929, both have DDNS configured for Namecheap and using the following settings: DDNS Service: Custom DYNDNS Server: dynamicdns.User Name: &host= Additional DDNS Options: Blank Do not use external ip check: Router #1: YES; Router #2: NO They are basically set up to update two different subdomains on my account (one for each location).

If you want to update an IP address which Inadyn can't pick up by using either of two above mentioned methods then you'll have to manually invoke Inadyn.

It seems that the Dyn DNS configuration only updates my external IP on when I press the "Apply settings" button.

The Gateway and Local DNS is filled w/ the correct values.Inadyn is dependent on a WAN connection, either to pick the IP address from it or to contact an external IP resolver.Inadyn does not pick up an IP until WAN is up in order to avoid bogus/random IP address being updated.what is the prob to run ddns and with WAN disabled, if the router itself have wan Internet access? If no IP address is supplied the WAN address connecting to our system will be used.In my modem/router unfortunately don't supports 'dtdns.com' so must update ddns servers from other router with dd-wrt on it, connected to first. Clients behind NAT, for example, would not need to supply an IP address.
