Quicken is a financial planning program that has the ability to download transactions automatically from your financial institutions when you launch it.
There may be certain situations when you want to temporarily disable this feature.
You do need an internet connection to download updates.
It can be frustrating when certain applications do not perform as expected, such as those that assist with downloading or updating banking transactions.
Often, banks and online brokerages will post a notice on their website or send out an email alert to customers if they will be performing any maintenance that will impact access to your data.
Check the bank website for notices, and check your email for a message from your financial institution regarding planned outages, maintenance, or scheduled downtime.
There may be a situation in which the One-Step Update process does not work.
You can still update Quicken by following the manual update process, however.
